The ICN Advocacy Workshop will take place at the CNMC’s headquarters in Barcelona. The CNMC building is a modern and contemporary building made of steel and glass, with solar panels and a hot-cold network distribution that allows energy savings and a 50% reduction in CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. In addition, it has a double facade designed as a network that allows proper sun protection. The building is also fully accessible for people with disabilities.
The area where the CNMC’s headquarters is located, currently known as the 22@Barcelona district, is the new technological center of the city and the hub for telecommunications and new technological companies, as well as for universities, training centers and research centers.
The area is easily accessible by public transport, metro, bus, tram or bicycle, and is well connected by public transport to the main touristic attractions of the city of Barcelona.

The closest metro station to the venue is Glories (Line 1), situated 3 minutes walking. There are also different bus and trams stops in the area
Getting from the Airport
El Prat Airport is located about 15 km distance from CNMC Building. You can reach the ICN Workshop using different means of transport:
- Shuttle Bus (Aerobus): there two bus services operating 24 hours connecting airport and city center: Bus A1 (Terminal 1 – Plaça Catalunya) and Bus A2 (Terminal 2 – Plaça Catalunya). The journey takes approximately 30-35 minutes, depending on when you get the bus and one-way ticket cost 5,90 € and a return ticket 10,20 €. From Plaça Catalunya to Glories, you can take metro line 1 (4 stations).
- Regional Trains (Rodalies): Terminal 2 is connected through R2 regional train service with Sants Station, Plaça Catalunya Station (connected with Glories with L1) and also with El Clot Station (15 minutes walking from ICN Workshop). You can check timetables and frequencies here.
- Metro: Terminal 1 and 2 are connected with metro line 9.
- Taxi: you can reach ICN Workshop using taxi services. The journey takes about 30 minutes, depending on the traffic. Fares depend on the day and the hour, but usually the average cost is around 25-30€.
Getting from the Train Station
Barcelona Sants is the main train station of Barcelona. It is located in the city center, 6 km away from CNMC building. It can be easily reached using metro (Sants Estació – line 3 and 5), Rodalies (Sants Station) or taxi (25 minutes journey).
Leisure Venue
On Thursday after the sessions, a visit and dinner are planned at the ‘Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau’. Declared World Heritage by the UNESCO in 1997, it is Europe’s largest Art Nouveau architectural site in this style and one of the foremost examples of ‘Modernisme’, the Catalan Art Nouveau. It was devised as a “city within a city”, with pavilions set in gardens and interconnected by a network of underground tunnels.
